The Northampton County District Attorney, Stephen G. Baratta, announces that he has approved charges in two separate cases involving drivers who were attempting to replicate dangerous TikTok challenges using an automobile.
Social media challenges are trends where users create and share videos of themselves and others performing a specific action designed to both entertain and encourage others to attempt their own challenges- a form of audience engagement- as the challenge’s success is measured by how many new participants view the original challenge and create version of the challenge by posting the latest versions of the challenge onto online media websites such as TikTok and Instagram.
